Tap the blue + in the middle of the menu on a phone, or Add item at the top of the sidebar on a computer. Add photos, say what it is, give it a price and a bin, then tap Save item. Only the title is required.
Add an item
- Open New item: the + on a phone, or Add item on a computer.
- Add photos. On a phone, tap Take photos to use the camera, or Library to pick from your photos. On a computer, drop photos on the box, or click it to choose.
- Pick the item type at the top, like Militaria or Trading cards, if your shop has more than one turned on.
- Type the title in What is it?
- Type the Price.
- Pick the Category, if the type has more than one.
- Under Put it in, tap Pick and choose a bin, then tap Put it in and the bin's code.
- Tap Save item.
You're taken to the new item, with a note saying where to put it, like Put it in B27-03.
To add several in a row, tap Save + next on a phone, or Save, add another on a computer. You get a fresh form with the same item type, category and bin.
Photos
The first photo you add is marked Main. Tap the cross on a photo to remove it.
Photos upload after you tap Save item. If one doesn't upload, the item is still saved, and you can add the photo again from the item.
To change the order, pick a different main photo, keep a photo off your website, or give it a description, open the item and tap Edit item.
On Pro and Business, and during your free trial, Fill in from photos can fill in the title and details for you. See Fill in an item from photos.
Where it goes
Put it in shows the bin and how much room it has left, like room for 3 or full. When you pick a bin, Lotmaster gives the item the next free slot in it, shown as Goes in slot and a code like B27-03.
No bins yet? Leave it as No location yet. The item waits in Inventory under Needs a location until you put it away.
The rest of the form
Tap a section's name to open it. The hint beside each name says what's in it.
- Details: your item type's own fields, like Conflict or Set, plus Year or dates, a Tag (a short label on the website, like Named or Documented) and Other details. Tap + Add a detail for anything without a field, like a size.
- Description: Summary, Description, Condition and Provenance. These show on your website and on eBay. The summary is one or two sentences for your homepage and item cards.
- Shipping: Packed weight in pounds and ounces, and the box's Length, Width and Height in inches. eBay needs these when your shipping policy charges by weight. Leave them empty for flat rate or free shipping.
- What you paid: Paid, the Date, and Where from. This is private. Consignment is here too, for items you sell for someone else (Pro and Business).
- Where it’s listed: the Status (In stock, Listed or Kept), the eBay item number or link to link it to a listing already on eBay, and Also listed on for other sites like Facebook Marketplace, Mercari or Whatnot.
- Website: Show on the website, Feature it on the homepage, Sale pending, Display order (lower comes first) and Price text, which shows instead of the price, like Inquire.
- Private notes: never shown to anyone outside your shop.
If you type an eBay item number or tick a site under Also listed on, a new item is saved as listed instead of in stock.
Public and private
Buyers only see an item on your website once you turn on Show on the website.
Quantity
Item types with Several copies of one item turned on, like the card and game types, show a Quantity next to the price. The price is for each copy, and all copies share one bin. See Several copies of one item.
If it won't save
- "Give the item a title": type something in What is it?
- "That doesn’t look like an eBay item number or link.": check the number, or paste the listing's full link.
- "Another item is already linked to that eBay listing.": that listing belongs to another item already.
- "Enter all three box sides (length, width and height), or leave them all empty."
- If your plan is full, New item tells you how many active items your plan holds instead of showing the form. Sold and kept items don't count. See Plans and what each includes.
Nothing you typed is lost when saving is refused.
