eBay fees and profit
How Lotmaster works out profit on eBay sales, using the fees eBay actually charged, and your fee rules as an estimate until eBay reports them.

Profit on an eBay sale uses the fees eBay actually charged, once eBay reports them. Until then, and for sales everywhere else, Lotmaster estimates fees with your fee rules in Settings → eBay and fees.
Real fees from eBay
Lotmaster reads your eBay account's transactions and picks out the fees on each sale: the final value fee, the per-order fee, promoted listing fees, the international fee and any others. A credit back from eBay counts against them.
On the item page, an eBay sale's profit says what eBay charged, for example "after $13.65 in eBay fees: final value $13.25, per-order $0.40". A sale eBay hasn't reported yet shows the estimate from your fee rule instead, for example "after 13.25% + $0.40 eBay fees".
Promoted listing fees can take a few days to arrive, so a sale's profit can change a little after it first shows.
Turn on real fees
Open Settings → eBay and fees and look at the Fees from eBay row.
- On: profit uses what eBay charged means it's working. The Fees tile above shows when Lotmaster last checked.
- Needs a reconnect to turn on means your eBay connection is older than this feature. The shop's owner taps Reconnect on the same page and approves on eBay. Nothing else changes.
Once it's on, Lotmaster also goes back to your earlier eBay sales in Lotmaster, catching up over its next few checks.
Fees in Reports
In Reports, the Marketplace fees line says:
- (estimated) when every fee in the period comes from your fee rules,
- (partly estimated) when some eBay sales have real fees and others don't yet,
- nothing extra when every eBay sale in the period has its real fees.
The note at the bottom of Reports says how many eBay sales use what eBay charged.
Your fee rules
Fee rules are at the bottom of Settings → eBay and fees, under Fee rules. Each place you sell has a Percent of sale plus a fixed amount per sale:
To change them, type the new numbers and tap Save fee rules. Only the shop's owner can change them; helpers see them read only.
Your eBay rule is also used for Profit if it sells on items that haven't sold yet, unless the item is only listed on other sites.
Why profit can differ from eBay's own numbers
eBay charges its final value fee on the item price plus the shipping the buyer paid. Lotmaster takes off that fee in full, but its profit on an eBay sale counts the item price only, not the buyer's shipping. So the fees match eBay's, but the profit in Lotmaster can be lower than eBay's own reports by the shipping the buyer paid.
If the item is consigned, the consignor's share is worked out after fees.
