Print bin labels and scan them
Print a label with a barcode for any bin or shelf, then scan it with your phone or a barcode scanner to open the bin or move items into it.

Every location can have a printed label with its code in big letters and a barcode. Scan the label and Lotmaster opens that bin, or picks it as the place you're moving items to.
Print a label
- Open the bin (or shelf, box or building) on the Locations page.
- Tap Print label. On a computer you can also tap Print label on the bin that's open beside the shelf map.
- Check the label: the code, where it is (for example the building and shelf), and the barcode.
- Tap Print label again to open your printer's print window, and print.
Only the label prints, not the rest of the page. Stick it on the front of the bin.
Labels print one at a time, from each location's own page.
Scan a label to open a bin
On a phone:
- On Home, tap the scan button at the end of the search bar. Find opens with the camera on.
- Point the camera at the label. When it reads the code, the bin opens.
If it's dark, use the torch button on the camera view, when your phone has one.
On a computer:
- Tap Scan a bin on Home, or open Find and choose Or use this computer’s camera.
- With a USB barcode scanner, click in the Find search box and scan. The scanner types the code and the bin opens.
If what you scan isn't one of your bin codes, Lotmaster searches your items for it instead.
Scan while moving items
When you move one or more items, the box at the top says Type or scan a bin. Tap the scan button beside it, point the camera at the bin's label, and that bin is picked. Then tap Move to with its code, such as Move to B27. A USB scanner works in the same box.
If the camera doesn't work
Scanning with the camera needs a browser that can read barcodes, such as Chrome on an Android phone. When it can't, Lotmaster tells you:
- This browser can’t read labels. Type the code below instead. Type the bin's code in the search box, or use a USB barcode scanner.
- Camera access is off. Allow it in your browser’s settings, or type the code below. Your browser was told not to let Lotmaster use the camera. Turn camera access back on for Lotmaster in your browser's settings.
Typing the code always works. On a phone, Find also lists your bins under Bins, and the Locations page has a search box to jump to a bin.
