Your website's look starts from one of four themes. Pick one, preview it with your own items, then add your logo, colors, fonts and a photo for the home page.

Only the shop's owner can change the look. Helpers see it read only.

On a computer, click Website in the sidebar. On a phone, go to the More tab and tap Website. The look is in the Look card at the top of Website look and pages.

The four themes

ThemeLookSuits
HeritagePaper tones, serif headings and small capitalsMilitaria, antiques and history
GalleryWhite and quiet, so the photos leadGeneral collectibles and mixed shops
ArcadeDark, with a bright accentVideo games, consoles and retro tech
ShowcaseBold condensed headings and bordered tilesTrading cards and sports cards

A new shop starts on Gallery.

Preview, then choose

  1. Under Preview on your storefront before you switch, tap a theme's name. Your website opens in that theme, with your items.
  2. A bar at the top says which theme you're previewing. Only you see it, for an hour. Tap Stop previewing to go back to your real theme, or Choose it in Settings to come back here.
  3. In Theme, tap the one you want. The theme you have now says yours now.
  4. Tap Save storefront look.

Previews work before you publish too, so you can try every theme while visitors still see "coming soon".

Make it yours

All of these are in the same Look card. Anything you leave empty uses the theme's own.

  • Tagline: a line under your shop's name on the home page, like what you sell and since when. Up to 140 characters.
  • Main colour: buttons, links and prices.
  • Second colour: the footer, and the top of the home page when there's no photo. Text on it is black or white, whichever reads better. In Arcade and Showcase it's the header's color too.
  • Heading font and Text font: pick from the list, or leave it on Theme’s.

Tap Use the theme’s beside a color to go back to the theme's color. A small sample under the themes shows your choices before you save. Tap Save storefront look when you're done.

If your main color is hard to read

If links and prices in your main color would be hard to read on the theme's background, a note says so. Your website then uses a darker or lighter shade of it for text, and keeps your exact color for buttons. Tap Use and the suggested color instead to switch to that shade everywhere.

Logo and hero photo

Below the colors are Logo and Hero photo. Choose a picture (PNG, JPEG or WebP) and tap Upload. To change one, upload a new picture with Replace, or tap Remove.

  • Logo: shows in the header instead of your shop's name. A PNG with a see-through background works best.
  • Hero photo: goes at the top of your home page, behind or beside your shop's name, depending on the theme. A wide photo works best, ideally 2000 pixels across and at least 500 tall.

Large phone photos are shrunk before they upload. Your logo is used in emails from your shop too.

In the setup wizard

The wizard's Pick a theme step shows the same four themes, each with Preview with your shop. Tap Use and the theme's name and continue to save it. Fonts, the tagline and the hero photo are only here in Website look and pages.
