Your website: what buyers see

The pages on your Lotmaster website, what an item page shows, and what buyers see before you publish or while your shop is paused.

Your website is your own shop online, at yourshop.lotmaster.app or your own domain. Buyers can browse what you have for sale, look at each item, and ask about it or buy it.

The pages

Every page has your logo (or shop name) at the top, with Shop, About and Contact links.

  • Home: your shop's name and tagline over or beside your hero photo, a Shop now button, links to each item type when you sell more than one, a Featured section, then New arrivals, and a button to see everything for sale.
  • Shop: everything for sale, 24 items to a page. Buyers can narrow it to one item type, then one category.
  • About: the text you write about your shop, with a line inviting questions.
  • Policies: your shipping, returns and payment policies. It only appears, as a link at the bottom of each page, once you've written at least one.
  • Contact: a form that sends you a message. See Buyer questions: Ask about this item and replying.

The bottom of each page also has a newsletter signup when your plan includes the newsletter, and an Unsubscribe link.

You write the About and Policies text in Settings → Website look and pages → Pages.

Sorting and filters

On the Shop pages buyers can choose Sort by: Featured, Newest, Price: low to high or Price: high to low. Sold items are hidden unless they tick Include sold items and tap Apply.

Featured order puts your featured items first, then follows the Display order you set on each item (lower comes first).

An item's page

An item's page shows:

  • its photos, with the main photo first,
  • the title, the price, and a status: Available, Sale pending or Sold,
  • how many are left, for item types that count copies,
  • Buy now, when your website takes card payments (see How Buy now works),
  • Ask about this item, unless it's sold,
  • Buy on eBay, when the item has a live eBay listing,
  • the summary, the details from its item type, and the description, condition and provenance you wrote.

If you set Price text on the item (for example "Inquire"), that shows instead of the price.

Your private notes and cost are never shown.

Which items appear

An item shows on your website when:

  • Show on the website is on for it, on the item page or in the Website section of the item form,
  • and it has at least one photo that's shown on the website.

Sold items stay on the website, marked Sold, but drop out of the lists unless a buyer ticks Include sold items. Tick Feature it on the homepage on the item form to put it in Featured.

Sale pending

An item shows Sale pending when you tick Sale pending on its form, or while a buyer is paying for the last copy left. Buyers see "A sale is pending. Ask the shop to hear if it falls through." Any sale clears it.

Coming soon and paused pages

  • Before you publish, visitors see your name with "is coming soon" and "The shop isn’t open yet. Please check back soon." There's no menu, and search engines are kept out. See Publish your website.
  • While your shop is paused, visitors see your name with "is taking a break" and "The shop isn’t open right now. Please check back soon."

How quickly changes show

Changes to items on your website, and to your look and pages, show within about a minute. If a page still looks out of date, go to Settings → Website look and pages → Updates and tap Refresh storefront now.
